A hearty skillet dinner that combines seasoned ground beef, crispy French fries, and melted cheddar cheese—finished with burger-inspired toppings for an easy, one-pan meal.
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
16 oz frozen French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup dill pickle slices (optional)
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomato, bacon, burger sauce
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In a large oven-safe skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any grease.
Add diced onion; cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic; cook 30 seconds.
Mix in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Spread frozen fries evenly over beef. Do not stir.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until fries are golden and crispy.
Top with shredded cheese; return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted.
Let cool for 5 minutes. Add pickles or optional toppings and serve.
