A hearty skillet dinner that combines seasoned ground beef, crispy French fries, and melted cheddar cheese—finished with burger-inspired toppings for an easy, one-pan meal.

1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
16 oz frozen French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup dill pickle slices (optional)
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomato, bacon, burger sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.

  • In a large oven-safe skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any grease.

  • Add diced onion; cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic; cook 30 seconds.

  • Mix in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Spread frozen fries evenly over beef. Do not stir.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until fries are golden and crispy.

  • Top with shredded cheese; return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted.

  • Let cool for 5 minutes. Add pickles or optional toppings and serve.
