A comforting chicken casserole with tender chicken, vegetables, and a creamy sauce.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix chicken, carrots, celery, peas, soup, sour cream, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  3. Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  5. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and spread evenly over the cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Replace cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom for variation.
  • Add 1 tsp dried thyme for extra flavor.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed.
